Our backyard vegetable garden journey: building wooden raised garden beds from scratch

When we first moved into our new home, we felt that the backyard area was a space that has a lot of potentials. We spent many months building our wooden raised garden beds and got to see our vegetables grow from seed to harvest. It is no surprise that taking care of plants will require time but being present has brought me much-needed ease and grounding during times of changes and transitions in my life. No one will closely observe and examine each sprout, seedling, and flower bud in the garden as much as the gardener. The amount of time spent in the garden is a reminder to be in the present moment and to take note of the growth that is happening right before us.

Summer flew by quickly and everything got so busy that I didn’t get to share more of the backyard process and transformation. It is bittersweet to see many months of effort in a 7-minute video. I was unsure about sharing the video, but it was a lovely reflection on our effort and work in the garden. I hope you enjoy it and maybe I’ll use more of the footage in an extended video in the future!

Sincerely,
Huong
